Yesterday I was supposed to see Burnsville, but they were snowed out (or weathered out). They rescheduled one of the tournament games today. It was the ONLY time that window would be open to chart the Blaze the rest of the season considering my other obligations. That meant it was off to Annandale by the 6 pm start time. That resulted in taking the best early option available—-check off Champlin Park. They were playing at Park Center, but their opponent was St. Louis Park resulting in a rare back to back charting for the Orioles (only used during state tournament).

Tomorrow is another “get it done” type of day. I need to see
a team, they are available, but the rest of the day is compromised as a result.

At this moment I have 13 AAAA teams left to see (not
counting the teams that will face Stillwater remaining on the schedule). The
chances of getting all 64 teams are at about 90%. My other annual quest to see
the top 100 teams does not face good odds right now. I will be hard pressed to
achieve that thanks to the calendar.

ST. LOUIS PARK 62, CHAMPLIN
PARK 51

In the battle of the Parks it was St. Louis over Champlin
62-51. For the first time in three games StLP came out with a decent start. The
Orioles broke open the game with a 12-0 run in the first half scoring on six
straight possessions (15-3). Three different players connected behind the arc
in that spurt (23-12). The good fortune soon evaporated as CP clawed their way
back into the game 30-27 right before half, but the Rebels picked up a foul that
sucked the momentum out of them right before half. StLP added a pair of free
throws with 0.9 ticks left. StLP scored the first three times they touched the
ball in the second half initiated by a 3 from Kendall Coley and it was back to
a 39-27 lead.

The Orioles had a much better shooting day. Neither team
converted very well from the right block (not counting transition). CP was 2/10
on the right block, StLP was 2/8. StLP was 4/5 in midrange, CP 1/8. CP also
failed to take advantage at the free throw line missing 10 chances.

CP’s Miyah Dubose
came up with 16 d stops, one of the higher totals this year thanks in part to
eight steals. When she took a break the CP momentum did too. She also had the best
31 Club score missing out by one (30).

 ST. Today
they came into #10AA Annandale’s gym and shot a sizzling 62 % from the floor in
putting a solid 62-40 win over the Cardinals. All this was accomplished without
post Kylie VanderWerf. The Blaze scored 62 points and shot 62% from the floor. You
saw the 20% and 25% in the first game inside. Burnsville was 8/11 in prime
scoring territory (not counting transition). Annandale could not match that 62%.
The Cards were 8/22 inside (many on second chance attempts. Annandale did win the
battle of the boards by +13.

After a 4-0 start the Cards faded. Burnsville scored the
next 10 points and didn’t look back. By half Burnsville enjoyed a 31-15 lead.

 BURNSVILLE

 ANNANDALE

 POINTS

 62

 40

 REBOUNDS/OFF

 32/7

 45/20

 TURNOVERS

 17

 25

 FTA/%

 9/55.6

 13/38.5

 2FG%/3FG%

 62.1/26.9

 28.6/22.7

 PP100

 88.6

 58.8

 TOP SCORER

 Two with 15

 Hannah Purcell 15

TRENCH PLAYER: Megan
Diggan of Burnsville with 15 points, 136.4 pp100 and 28 in the 31 Club.
