The Dragons swept the doubles and added the third singles with Rachel Erickson’s win, the deciding fourth point. Erickson rallied from one set down to pull off the victory. Illustrating the tight nature of this match, that third singles contest went three sets. M&S won three of the three setters while both teams split the sets separated by three points with three apiece. She moved back to first singles after a challenge match and made use of a strong side out and service game in stopping Ashley Kim. Lotti created separation in the first set on her second service where she tacked on eight additional points to stretch her lead to 11-2. Lotti had 13 winners in the first set and built three runs. Kim as able to generate one run closing the gap to six (11-5) but Lotti closed with a 10-1 kick.

After building a 5-1 lead in the second set, Lotti saw a resurgent Kim storming back with her longest run of the match (four straight) to tie it at seven. After a two stroke soft drive for point eight, Lotti strung together five more points including two straight aces—one deep and then one short. Lotti again had a healthy number of winners (15) in the second set, with seven coming on drops. Ten of her 15 winners fell in front of the service line. Winners were harder to come by for Kim with a total of six for the match. Most of the time Kim was on the defensive. She had a sequence where she fended off Lotti’s smash attempts three times in a row before Lotti adjusted and scored on off speed birds.

Category

LOTTI

KIM

Side out

7/10-.700

3/11-.273

Longest side out string

3

2

3+ Runs

7

2

Longest point string

9

4

SERVING

Service points

32

6

Serving %

.976

.938

Point generated off serve

.762

.375

POINTS

Overall points

42

16

Points after 11

20

7

Points after own errors

8

3

STROKES

Strokes

212

70

Strokes per point

5.048

4.375

5+ rallies

24

8

2- rallies

8

3

WINNERS

28

6

Aces

4

0

Blocks

0

0

Clears

4

1

Drives

1

2

Drops

9

0

Soft drives

4

1

Smashes

6

2

ERRORS

10

14

Deep

1

0

Net

3

9

Wide

5

4

Serve

1

1

W:E Ratio

2.80

0.43

Margin

13.00

Set Point %

2/3-.667

Time

12:22.57

MATH &
