Those were the only three set matches in the first round.<\/p>\n<p>In the second round again two players lost in the first set and came back to win. There were four three set matches in round two.<\/p>\n<p>The third or Sweet 16 Round proved to be the tightest round of all with five of the eight matches going to three sets. The average margin was also the tightest with 4.05. Once again two players lost in the first set that would continue on to win the match.<\/p>\n<p>The next first set losses and comebacks came in the third place and championship. The longest point total in any singles match came in the third set of the championship with Su Meh winning 26-24 over Gaozhia Vue. This was the longest third set championship match in history.<\/p>\n<p>This was the third time in tournament history where a Governor beat a Knight in the final. The other years were 2018 when Nou Chee Yang beat Jumy Miko and then 2009 when Olamide Fadahunsi beat Stephanie King. Highland Park\u2019s Alice Verbrugge &amp; Violet Solem Valentine did it twice: in the quarterfinals over Como Park\u2019s Asta Ket &amp; Galoee Yang and then in the third place match over Edina\u2019s Bergen Pickett &amp; Juman Alkhatib. Pickett &amp; Alkhatib were 1-2 in three set matches.<\/p>\n<p>The longest set of the day was with Humboldt\u2019s Nadine Mutesi &amp; Lwe Paw topping Eden Prairie\u2019s Akshay Balamurali and Thanvi Chada 25-23 in the third set of round one.<\/p>\n<p>For the first time (at least from 2005 on) neither Johnson or Harding made the quarterfinals in the doubles.
