ABOUT LAST NIGHT\u2026.BUFFALO V EDINA<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

I completed my Lake Conference viewing last night with the Bison exacting revenge on the Hornets in a home contest. Less than a month ago Edina buzzed the Bison 82-51 at home. The point differential last night was a 40 point swing.<\/p>\n

Buffalo expanded on their one point half time lead after a back and forth first half. There were eight lead changes in that opening 18 minutes with Buffalo taking the final lead at 33-32 with two minutes left in the half. At the break it was 35-34 Bison. The game remained tight in the second half with Edina staying within one possession most of the first nine minutes. The Hornets did move in front 50-49 for their only lead in the second half on Liz Vitt\u2019s 3 from the right side. She was immediately answered by seventh grader Kinley Goudy\u2019s 3 from up top to give Buffalo the lead for good 52-50. That was her only points of the night. The last nine minutes saw Buffalo gradually pull away outscoring their guests 24-17. Buffalo\u2019s biggest lead came at 76-42.<\/p>\n

One factor in the win for Buffalo came at the free throw line. They made 18, the same amount Edina attempted. The Bison had six and one chances to only two for Edina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

There was a jam up of 31 Club entrants on Friday with three of these players scoring 26 points. The Buffalo pair of Reese Millerbernd and Brianna Eggers was matched by the Hornet\u2019s Quinn Kemper\u00a0 with 26 points. Millerbernd topped them all with entry into the 41 Club. She was also the youngest of the four as a freshman. Eggers and Kemper are not that far ahead a sophs. Vitt was the only senior in the bunch. Millerbernd was essential for Buffalo bringing the ball up and she tied with Vitt with 10 distributions on 20 set ups. Vitt had 17 set ups. Buffalo also made six 3s with five different players connecting deep. Edina did better with 10 made 3s, but two players did most of the heavy lifting with Quinn Kemper hitting five, all in the first half and Liz Vitt with four. Kemper was hot that first half blistering the nets at 190 pp100. Kemper only added nine 31 Club points in the second half as the Bison defense didn\u2019t give her as much space. Millerbernd on the other hand was consistent throughout the game with 22s in each half totaling up to 44 for the night. She opened with ten first half points and tacked on 16 the second half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
