Glaeser’s Theorem is alive and well (a team, in order to win a tournament, needs to survive a bad half). Depleted Perham put up a fight in the first half against Providence trailing only by two. Maddyn Greenway was her usual productive self, but the next highest scorer came off the bench: junior Lily Sabers delivered 14 points going 4/5 on 2s, and 2/6 on 3s and the Lions will be looking for a fifth straight AA title.

Hillcrest Lutheran & CMC’s second half sank their chances. The Comets had three players in the 31 club on Thursday, only one on Friday. CMC had two members on Thursday, zero on Friday. NLS got off to a slow start, made a move to cut it to five, but faded due to fouls down the stretch.

Tent pole players like Greenway, Johnson, Mathiowetz lived up to consistent expectations. MIB has balance and depth that is unusual for A teams. Their top performer was Anna Neyens with a 200 pp100 going a scintillating 8/11 from 3s on her way to 30 points.

Team

PP100

Mountain Iron-Buhl

106.8

Providence

105.9

Duluth Marshall

102.8

Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s

82.8

New London-Spicer

80.0

Hillcrest Lutheran

77.8

Central MN Christian

74.6

Perham

72.1

31 CLUB

The 31 Club was 4-3 in the win/loss column on Friday.
