COMMUNITY OF PEACE ACADEMY 6, PRAIRIE SEEDS ACADEMY 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Tigers took care of the Lycans on the road Tuesday in a battle of charter schools 6-1. This was the second meeting between the two this season and the second victory for COPA over PSA. On St. Patrick\u2019s day COPA won at home 4-3. The difference this time? Phoenix Yang was not available for PS. She was not the only player\u00a0 missing. Then PSA\u2019s wins then came at fourth singles, and first and second doubles. Prairie Seeds\u2019 only victory today came at first doubles which also was the tightest match decided by four points. COPA swept the singles with margins ten points or greater in half the sets. Second doubles proved to be the longest match of the day going to three sets. That match also had the only set that went to extra points. PSA\u2019s Pearl & Jasmine got the win 22-20 in the second set before Kuri & Noemi bounced back to take the third set 21-11.<\/p>\n

Jenny Lee stayed on the unbeaten track holding Jina, a substitute for Phoenix Yang, to single digits. Jina has played at fourth singles or on the JV. Lee did not allow one run or even one winner today. The power game was on full display for Lee today. She totaled eleven smashes on the day with on stretch in the second set of five straight. The match looked somewhat different at the start with Jina holding a 2-1 lead. Lee\u2019s first run started on her second service and lasted for ten points. It started with two straight clears and it was clear that Lee was going to sail through. The points Jina would get were smashes that were caught in the net.<\/p>\n

The second set did not swerve off the path of the first set. Lee had a 14-2 after her third service including the five straight smash sequence. Lee had 15 winners in the second set.<\/p>\n
