HUDSON 54, COLFAX 38<\/strong><\/p>\n

After three games the string is broken. Finally a home team was<\/p>\n

victorious in my chartings in Wisconsin. Bigger school Hudson (Big Rivers Conference & D1—in MN AAAA) beat smaller school Colfax (Dunn-St. Croix Conference & D4—in MN AA) in the opener for Hudson. It was also the first game in the Jess Carney era for the Raiders and it got off on the right note. But it didn\u2019t really get off on the right note. The first score came on a technical due to a wrong number in the scorebook. Colfax cashed in the two free throws and maintained that lead out to 5-4. With 12 plus minutes remaining in the first half the Raiders took the lead for good. At half Hudson led 26-20. The lead soon expanded to double digits once the second half got under way and the result really wasn\u2019t in doubt after that. Ty Huber led the way for Hudson with 17 points, 14 of which came in the first half on perfect shooting from the floor—-4\/4 from 2s, 2\/2 from 3s.<\/p>\n

Hudson was able to hold the Vikings to 30% shooting from the floor. Colfax did enjoy an advantage on the boards, but couldn\u2019t cash in with buckets. Both teams were rather deliberate with longer possessions as they probed for any daylight. The biggest differential came in touches per turnover. Hudson valued the ball, or Colfax didn\u2019t raise the temps on defense, with 77 touches per turnover. That is 60 better than the Vikings 17.<\/p>\n

Colfax is now 1-2 on the year.<\/p>\n

Hudson high school is undergoing massive reconstruction. I felt I needed to leave bread crumbs to find my way back to my vehicle.<\/p>\n

This closes my Wisconsin viewing. There are no games (that I am aware of) for Wednesday. Minnesota action tips off Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
