Normally I would write about the games or at least give a thumbnail<\/p>\n

sketch. With 8 games and the time closing on 1 am that ain\u2019t going to happen. I will mention a bit on the day: I was on the east court most of the day except when they shifted the Watertown\/Byron game to the west court. The best two pp100s came in the first two games of the day. The best losing pp100 also came in the first two games of the day. Four teams cracked 100 today, with Hayfield leading the foursome with 111.7, and PCG only one point off.<\/p>\n

Brooke Walter topped the charts on the distribution side with 11. Walter, of Lyle-Pacelli, connected seven times alone to Kristi Fett, who ended up with 30 points.<\/p>\n

The defender with the highest stop total was Tiwaah Danso of Simley. She was one off twenty. Danso, who I believe has a longer wingspan than her stated height, started off defending near the rim, but was also effective guarding on the three point line.<\/p>\n

But I believe the biggest story and impact on the day had to be Sam Haiby of Moorhead. She had 46 of Moorhead\u2019s 54 points in the win over White Bear Lake. It wasn\u2019t like Haiby wasn\u2019t trying to involve her teammates. She led her team with 13 set up passes. Despite massive attention from the Bear\u2019s defense she shot 59% from the floor on 16\/27 shooting (2s) and 2\/6 on 3s. She also was 80 at the line (8\/10). On top of that she helped lead the Spuds to the win with a steal lay up and one with 1:48 to go. Not many times does a player reach the 61 Club. Haiby had a 65 to smash that barrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
