It is winter in Minnesota. It gets cold. It snows. The metro area called<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

off school. In northern Minnesota they call it Monday. Life goes on. Esko hosted 7AA rival Aitkin on a cold and snowy Monday and pounced on the Gobblers to the tune of 69-40. The appropriately named Eskomos bounced back from a loss last Thursday to Cromwell. In this game tonight, the home team made use of eight 3s, their pressure defense early, which led to layups (made 6\/9), and the free throw line (+13 made). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With eight minutes to go in the first half the game was tied\nat a dozen. Annika Wold uncorked a 3 from the right side and the Eskomos never\ntrailed again. That started an 18-8 finish to the half (30-20). Kristy Demuth,\nwho had a game high 20 points, hit back to back 3s in that run. With 9 minutes\nleft in the game Esko was up 48-29 (another 18-9 run). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esko is 16-5 on the season. They had a string of three\nstraight losses early when post Bridget Yellin was out with a foot injury. The Gobblers\nare now 10-7. This was their second loss in a row to a 7AA team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
