The Governors fell to the Eagles 4-3 in the last regular season match on May 3 which snapped a 45 match conference winning streak. Today the Governors flipped second singles and first doubles to get their fifth straight title (and nine of the last ten). Johnson opened the day with a 6-1 victory over Edina, the only non-St. Paul school in the quarterfinals. In the semis Johnson shut out #5 Central 7-0. The Minutemen pushed Johnson to three sets in third singles and first doubles. For the day Johnson had two singles and two doubles teams that won every match. Of those four undefeated flights second singles Pa Di Moua, the St. Paul City champ and the number one seed in the individual portion of the state tournament which begins on Wednesday, and the third doubles pair of Pacee &amp; Joy did not lose a set.<\/p>\n<p>By the numbers:<\/p>\n<p>There were 56 matches. 29% of the matches today went to 3 sets. Of the 3 setters players that won set one ended up winning 9 of the 15 matches. In doubles the score was 7-1, singles 2-5.<\/p>\n<p>There were 128 total sets, 24 were decided by 2 points (18.75%); 12 had matches go to extra points (9.375%). 15 sets had single digit scores
