Now that crisis has been resolved. I thought it was done on Monday morning. It didn’t get completely done until Thursday morning. That knocked out Monday and Wednesday possibilities. Then add in the holiday travel season, and the fact that our dog is not allowed to go to Fargo during Christmas, meant Thursday was off the table. That means I only saw one varsity game for the week, and that involves Mahtomedi (where I am on the coaching staff).

POSTPONED

There have been several games that have been either cancelled or postponed. The weather can not be the sole reason for these changes. Neither can the limited number of officials. On Wednesday there were eleven games scheduled. Wednesday is not a huge night for games. Five were not played. The virus probably has some influence in these alterations. I expect there will be more in January. I can also see some of these tournaments coming up can be topsy turvy with teams dropping.

THE WEEK THAT WILL BE

Much of this week involves tournaments. Since Mahtomedi is at the Hill-Murray tournament, and they have multiple levels of eight team events, I will be spending most, if not all of my timer there. My thinking is Monday is already out because the dog can not be left alone for an extremely long time and the return trip from Fargo is not 100% certain.

There will be other events other than the HM tourney.
Here are just a few (with some ranked teams in the mix): Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial; Monticello; Moorhead; Park Center; Perham; Rochester; Roseville; St. Cloud (various sites); Southwest MN State; Winona State.

The most interesting match up may involve Becker vs Minnetonka at St. Ben’s on Wednesday at 7:30.

UNBEATEN

We are down to 25 left standing. When 2022 rolls around next week we could be looking at a dozen or less.

AAAA-5; AAA-3; AA-6; A-11

As for my checklist—-I am doing the best at the AAAA level with 9 of the top 10 done. It drops down each class thereafter with 6 in AAA, 4 in AA and 2 in A.

As for the QRF based list
1-10: 80%
1-25: 64%
1-50: 58%
1-75: 52%
1-100: 47%

That means 53 left. The biggest fish out is Blaine at #6.

SEEDING THE STATE

The weekly outlook does not see a lot of change (if any) at the top. The churn takes place in the 5-8 category.

AAAA

Hopkins (6)

Minnetonka (2)

Michael-Albertville (8)

Roseville (5)

Rosemount (3)

Stillwater (4)

Lakeville North (1)

Blaine (7)

AAA

Becker (5)

Austin (1)

Holy Angels (6)

Paul Como Park (3)

Totino-Grace (4)

Grand Rapids (7)

Peter (2)

Willmar (8)

AA

Minnehaha (4)

Providence (5)

Goodhue (1)

Fergus Falls (8)

Proctor (7)

Sauk Centre (6)

Montevideo (3)

Glencoe-Silver Lake (2)

A

Mountain Iron-Buhl (7)

Minneota (3)

Cass Lake-Bena (8)

Mayer Lutheran (2)

Hancock (6)

Hayfield (1)

Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (5)

New Life Academy (4)

[10,7,139,161
Thanks to Ol’ Man Winter (a distant relative to Ol’ Man River) the week was very abbreviated.
