One noticeable trend was that Trinity increased their margin as the match went on as measured in sets. Singles proved to have the tighter contests the only extra point set coming at third singles in the second set. Only one time did Kennedy fail to get to double digits and that came at third doubles in the first set.

Trinity is now 3-1 on the year. Kennedy falls to 1-4.

This marks the second time this week that I have charted Kennedy. Earlier they beat Eden Prairie 4-3 on Tuesday. The margin window went from a +3.78 in singles to -5.63 for the Eagles. In doubles the margin level went from 0 to -8.00. Kennedy lost on Thursday to Burnsville. This match with Trinity was originally was scheduled for March 24 but was moved due to a family emergency.

With Trinity checked off I have now seen 15 of the 25 teams involved in badminton. Minneapolis and the charter schools are next to be on the list.

Sunday the second poll will be released with team, singles and doubles.

SINGLES
1. The visitor did have the early advantage in the first set with the first run of three to go up 6-4, her largest margin of the day. Kocon responded with a run of four to pull ahead 8-6. The pair were tied at 8, 10, 11 and 12. That is when Kocon picked up her second three point run to lead 15-12. In that first set Kocon came up with 16 winners. She ended that set with a six stroke smash.

Kocon had a 26-16 advantage in winners with her clears and smashes tying for the lead at six.

Kocon scored the first run of the second set to go up 6-3. She had three more including the final three capped by two straight smashes on three strokes. Aufdencamp could not get any traction on her service as Kocon prevented any scoring on five straight serves.

Looking at the differences in Aufdencamp’s Tuesday and Friday performances the side out game was cut in half from .882 to .409; and her service game only was able to garner nine points compared to the 24 on Tuesday. This was a “longer” game too in that the stroke count was higher. The 5+ and 2- rallies were roughly the same today; Tuesday the under twos ruled 22-3. Aufdencamp’s record matches Kennedy’s at 1-4.

Category

KOCON

<td
