This means that the top 10 schools will NOT play on Monday, May 13. There will be six matches on Monday with those winners moving on to the Tuesday, May 14 Sweet 16 and Quarterfinals rounds hosted by the top four seeds. Win twice on Tuesday and move on to the team semifinals and championship/third place to be held at Edina on Wednesday, May 15.

But before that we have the conference tournaments. St. Paul and Minneapolis hold their singles & doubles tournaments on Wednesday and Thursday. Minneapolis separates the two with singles on Wednesday. St. Paul will crown both on Thursday. The action is at Edison and Harding respectively. The St. Paul tournament is usually a harbinger of the state titlists. The EMAC also holds a conference tournament on Thursday, but it is team based. That is a one-day affair at Hmong College Prep Academy. The Suburban schools do not hold any tournament event……that may change in the coming years.

I have completed my viewing of all 28 schools. Why did it last until the seventh week? That is when Fridley first visited schools for matches. There were a few conference champ match ups (or co-champs) last week Edina beat Washington in the Presidential Triangular hosted by the Hornets. Math & Science topped the Minneapolis co-champ, and another president, Roosevelt on Wednesday.

This week: besides the big conference wide tournaments there is the Twin Cities match up. Both St. Paul and Minneapolis have co-champions. The team that has not appeared in the match up the longest gets to go. Washington will represent St. Paul and Henry will host on Tuesday.

later today (Sunday) I should be able to get out the two first doubles matches from Thursday (Edina v Washington) and Friday (North St. Paul v Como Park).

STANDINGS

SAINT PAUL

SCHOOL

CW

CL

TW

TL

Johnson

9

3

10

3

Washington

9

3

12

4

Highland Park

8

4

10

6

Como Park

8

4

11

4

Harding

5

7

8

8

Central

2

10

2

12

Humboldt

1

10

4

12

MINNEAPOLIS

SCHOOL

CW

CL

TW

TL

Roosevelt

11

1

11

5

Henry

10

1

10

1

Washburn

6

6

6

8

Edison

5

6

6

7

South

3

9

3

10

North

3

8

3

9

Southwest

1

10

1

12

SUBURBAN

SCHOOL

CW

CL

TW

TL

Edina

8

0

14

0

Kennedy

5

3

7

5

Eden Prairie

3

3

5

6

North St. Paul

3

4

7

9

Tartan

1

3

6

5

Fridley

0

1

0

2

Burnsville

0

6

1

9

EMAC+

SCHOOL

CW

CL

TW

TL

Math &
