That explains the totals cracking the century mark.

Hopkins had a duo with 20s Agara and McGill. McGill and Olson are both freshman making strong statements. It should also be noted that Rochester provided a pair in the five with Ustby and Miller from Lourdes and Mayo respectively.

POINT PARADE

AAAA

Dani Coleman, Lakeville South 26

AA

Addi Mack, Minnehaha 31

Sam Wills, Visitation 29

ABOUT LAST NIGHT

The days of me sitting in place of more that two games in a row are extremely limited. Last weekend put my body to the limits. That is why on Friday I watched two games at the refurbished White Bear Lake High School and then reluctantly left.

GAME 1: Visitation 75, Roseville 58

The #8AA Blazers, behind a tour deforce from Sam Wills, knocked down bigger school Roseville 75-58. Wills had 29 points, 22 d stops (15 of which were d boards) and 9 distributions—just missing a kjasr triple by one. It wasn’t for lack of trying she led her team in set up passes with 22. All of that action put her in the 51 Club with a 59.

Viz back cut pressure and players recognized the cuts. They also dominated the rebound battle with a plus nine. They also were the only team of the four today to crack the century mark at 104.2.

Both teams were active behind the arc with each making nine.

GAME 2: St. Michael-Albertville 58, East Ridge 52

The Knights survived a late Raptor rally for a 58-52 victory. Neither offense really ever got on track. STMA broke free early adding nine unanswered points late in the first half turning a 16-14 lead to a 25-14 margin. However ER closed with a flourish of their own with two 3s sandwiching a pair of free throws for a 27-22 STMA halftime lead. STMA again pushed the margin to a dozen. ER sliced it back to six (43-37 with 5:24 left). STMA again pushed the lead back to 58-43 with less that 1:37 left. But that was the end of scoring for the Knights. Part of the problem was Abby Hoselton fouled out with 3:13 left. She was the only player to crack the 31 Club with a score of 35. She was also a centurian. Teammate Cail Jahnke was one shy of the 31 Club. With the change on the floor ER pounced and again closed with the last nine points of the game. Combined ER outscored STMA 17-0 the last minutes of each half.

Neither team valued the ball at a high rate. STMA had 27 turnovers, East Ridge did them one better at 28. That meant the Knights were turning it over 11.78 touches; the Raptors were slightly better at 12.11 touches. Neither numbers inspire that much confidence.

FRIDAY RESULTS

AAAA

#1 Hopkins 62, Iowa City West 40

Orono 62, #2 Minnetonka 59

#3 St. Michael-Albertville 58, #10 East Ridge 52

AAA

Dowling Catholic, IA 78, #1 Benilde-St. Margaret’s 70

#2 DeLaSalle 68, #4AA Minnehaha 62

#10 Delano 72, Edina 45

AA

#1 Providence 79, White Bear Lake 54

#8 Visitation 75, Roseville 58

A

#2 Mayer Lutheran 64, Grand Rapids 20

DAY AHEAD

There are 30 contests today again with 16 from Hamline & White Bear.

High Fives, Point Parades and two About Last nights.
