AAA was almost ten points behind. AAAA was off by four plus. Why the putrid scores? In AAA eight teams could not get to 40. Five of those could not reach 30. Of the eight four were city (Minneapolis 3/St. Paul 1) schools. Why so low. Two factors—-1. there is no structured youth program; 2. Any athlete that shows promise is scooped up by other programs through open enrollment or private enrollment. City schools also do not make life easy with access to facilities. Until these factors are addressed you will continue to see horrible scores and margins.

AAAA:

#1 Maple Grove 78, Chaska 40

AAA:

#2 Orono 91, Bloomington Jefferson 28

#8 Mahtomedi 62, South St. Paul 29

AA:

#2 Crosby-Ironton 91, Mora 20

#3 New London-Spicer 68, Albany 23

#6 Minnewaska 61, Melrose 40

#7 Sauk Centre 73, Montevideo 39

A:

#1 Goodhue 47, Dover-Eyota 39

#2 Mountain Iron-Buhl 53, Cromwell 37

#3 Mayer Lutheran 71, Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 54

#4 Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s 82, MLGHECT

#5 Hillcrest Lutheran 69, Parkers Prairie 50

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 84, #7 Central MN Christian 68

#9 Hancock 78, Rothsay 32

DAY AHEAD

Friday is ready for 123 games.
