HENRY SIBLEY 53, SOUTH ST. PAUL 36
Henry Sibley, fresh off a big Tuesday win, overcame a half time
deficit to top South St. Paul in a Metro East conference game Friday night. The Packers held a slim 22-20 lead at the break. As has been the case all week in the games I charted the 3 ball was instrumental in the win. The Warriors took their first lead in the second half on a 3 by Mary Leslie (25-24). There would be two more lead changes. HS went on a 9-3 run with Tori Nelson initiating it with the first four (36-29). That seven point margin became 12 when Hope Korte connected on two consecutive possessions with 3s. Korte was 4/5 from behind the arc. The last seven minutes SSP was only able to score two more points.
Nelson did not start. She has been out recently with an illness. She was limited to 21 minutes of action.
This completes the Metro East conference. I have finished the Lake, South Suburban, Suburban East. A few more conferences will fall soon.
I am now at 75 teams checked off from the top 100. It will be hard to get the final 25 I believe. There are not enough teams that play on Thursday or Saturday for me to get it done.
With Henry Sibley off the list I am now at 96.8% complete for AAAA teams. Only two teams remain—both with SLP connections—Spring Lake Park & St. Louis Park. I am at 41.4% for AAA. Guess where most of my attention will be in the upcoming five weeks?
This was my last available chance to see a regular season Friday game. After tonight Stillwater is booked every Friday.
Henry Sibley is now 8-8 on the year, 3-2 in the Metro East; SSP falls to 3-12 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
