No positioning to avoid unpleasant match ups allowed. And it is a true #1-#8. State is only #1-#5. Heaven knows no one wants the stigma of an #8 seed. (but in sections no one cares or need therapy if a team is seeded #23).

If you are wondering where a #2 ranked Wayzata is in AAAA, they are behind #1 ranked Hopkins and would not make the state, hence they are not listed. Until they seed #1-#64 that won’t happen.
