Seeding the State 2019: Week 15

Seeding the state 15

This is the last seeding the state before the “real” seeding happens

next week. Only 1-5 is seeded in the MSHSL system. We will see if there is any sandbagging this year in an effort to avoid certain teams. Of course if any of the remaining teams stumble, bumble and fumble this week the adjustments could be severe. The only team that could maintain position would be if Wayzata got by Hopkins in the section final. The other potential team to maintain would be Mountain Iron-Buhl in A.

The big adjustments came in AAA where favorites fell. Two #1 seeds left the arena on Saturday—-including #1 in the state Red Wing. AAAA has one #1 casualty. Four different #1s dropped in AA—-three of them were in north/south subsections. That means seven remain. In A three #1s fell—-two in split sections, leaving ten standing.
