I missed the first few minutes of this game due to the trek to the facilities (Kennedy forces patrons to use one restroom location despite hosting on two floors). NT7O led 20-17 at break. NT7T scored two 3s on their last two possessions  (a 6-3 finish the last 25 seconds).

MN Elite raced out to a 10-0 start, but it was Fury that ended up with the victory as the door slammed shut on the easy baskets. By half Fury led 24-22. Elite was heavily invested in the 3 point shot with 30 attempts behind the arc (64% of all Elite shots).

Fury went on 10-3 run late in first half to pull ahead 33-23. Fury led 33-26 at the break. With under 3 minutes to play Fury’s Callin Hake hit a 3 to put them up 60-57. That would be their last points in the next seven possessions (including a missed right hand lay up and three turnovers.) NT scored on six of their last seven chances to pull of the comeback (nine unanswered points). Amaya Battle had five points down the stretch.

The second NT v NT battle of the day went to the EYBLs over surprise entrant Elite. EYBL were the only team all day to crack the century mark. 3 point shooting helped with a 7/12 mark with six different EYBLs delivering. EYBL led 41-23 at the break.

11/2020: MN Fury 2020 UAA 56, North Tartan 17u EYBL 47

An avalanche of free throws helped Fury topple NT as they scored 11 more points at the line. NT’s Lauren Jensen was golden at the line at 8/8. The rest of the team was 5/12. McKenzie Kramer matched Jensen with 8/8. The rest of the Fury was 16/24. The Bench was also a big contributor for Fury. NT starters outscored Fury 43-35. The bench was ruled by the Fury 21-4. NT had Mady Wilke go down with an ankle injury. She was not able to get her shot off with the same lift and she only had 2 points. NT’s tank was running on empty too. All starters played over 25 minutes. The rested Fury starters had two players over 25 minutes.
