FIRST SINGLES

Taylor AUFDENCAMP 2, Rhea YENUBARI 0
(20-8, 21-10)

Taylor Aufdencamp won her first match of the year with a sweep of Rhea Yenubari. Yenubari, is usually at second singles and was filling in the first spot today. Aufdencamp slammed the door on Yenubari’s service only allowing two service points while garnering 24 of her own. Aufdencamp also controlled the winners category with 22. Drives and smashes each accounted for seven points. Drives were Yenubari’s favorite winner too with six total. She only had three more to add to that.

This match was over quickly. A total of 10:15 was all that was required. Most of the points came on the second stroke The first four points of the match were all two strokes; eleven of her 20 points (they only went to twenty according to my records) with three more on one stroke. The longest rally in the first set came at Yenubari’s only service point of the set which came on her second service. That involved an Aufdencamp hitting error on the sixth stroke. The first set was tight out to 9-6 when two consecutive Aufdencamp runs of five put considerable distance between the two. That hot string continued in the second set when Aufdencamp had two runs of three and five gave her an 8-1 advantage. She added one more three point run and it came on the final service of the match. This set had more strokes that the first (104-68). Yenubari won the longer strokes, but they came on side outs, with her longest stroke win coming a ten stroke side out for her ninth point.
