MN GBB: Recap of MN GBB Sunday Action 1.19.2025

Recap of action from Sunday 1.19.2025

D1 HIGH FIVE

Liv McGill, Florida, Hopkins 21

Amaya Battle, Minnesota, Hopkins 18

Paige Bueckers, UConn, Hopkins 18

Nunu Agara, Stanford, Hopkins 15

Adalia McKenzie, Illinois, Park Center 15

Totals: 87

Adalia McKenzie crashes an all Hopkins party. The top four spots all belong to Royals. This is the first time one high school has dominated. Hopkins has previously snagged a trio several times this season. Bueckers, Battle, and Agara won a state title together in 2019. McGill was actually a teammate with McKenzie that year at Park Center when they made the state tournament.

DAY AHEAD

45 games await the MLK Monday. Six of those games are at St. Catherine’s starting at 10 am.

#6AA Caledonia at #2A Mayer Lutheran

UNBEATEN V UNBEATEN

#3AA New London-Spicer is at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg. KMS has not been ranked in the AA polls. A victory here for the Saints would change that.

OTHER RANKED IN ACTION

AA #1 Providence, #9 Duluth Marshall

A #5 Mountain Iron-Buhl, #9 Walker-Hackensack-Akeley

BAD NEWS

….I am unable to get out to chart games for the next 10 days. I am not ill. My car is and won’t be able to be fixed/repaired in a timely manner. This throws a wrench in my plans, teams and games won’t stand still….but I have had a horrible experience ignoring my check engine light. That mistake won’t be made twice.
