FRIDAY FOURSOME
The MN State AAU Qualifier opened on Friday at Kennedy. I don’t know if you can chalk up the lower numbers, especially by the non-winning teams, to nerves, or lack of together time, or fill in the blank, but even winning teams were not stellar. When a team fails to reach 20 it is rough. That happened twice. My mantra is 10 points every four minutes, not 10 points a half. Two teams, both the 2019 level remarkably had the same pp100 just under my low bench mark of 80. North Tartan Starks, the five time defending state champs showed why they hold that position. Four players reached double digits led by Paige Bueckers.
The reason this is so brief is time constraints. It is off to Kennedy again for a smattering of games. Sunday will showcase the battle for number one seeds.
