HMONG ACADEMY 5, PRAIRIE SEEDS 2
The last week of the conference calendar saw me close to home for a Twin City Athletic Conference match up with the road Warriors of Hmong Academy making the Prairie Seeds Lycans howl in a 5-2 win. HA swept the doubles and took the first two singles to build their win. Every match was decided in two sets. The margins were over ten in the doubles. The closest contest came at third doubles where Christina Jong Pao won her match with Amy Vang with a margin of 3.5.

Neng Thao of HA picked up steam as the match rolled on and swept Yer Yang. Yang was able to nose ahead at 9-8 in the first set, her only lead of the match. Thao’s side out game prevented Yang getting any traction. Winners were not found in abundance. Today’s action centered around the net, and that net gobbled up a lot of birds Of the 64 points decided in this match half were scored in front of the service line. (53 % when adding the wide shots in that zone). Thao blasted open the first set closing with a 9-2 push. A similar rush occurred in the second set with an 11-2 finish.
