2019-20 Week That Was, Seeding the State, Superlatives #1

Week one will have deep implications for March. All contests matter. Provided that all the marquee teams make the state in March holding a win in November over a potential seeded team will have to be seriously considered. Head to head matters. Things have been drastically altered in some classes already thanks to the first week. For smaller classes, losing to a AAAA power is not fatal.

SUPERLATIVES

Best pp100: Wayzata with a 129.9 v Fergus Falls on Friday.  The Trojans are the only team with two century marks as they reached 101.3 against Eastview on Saturday. Two other teams were charted twice and Park Center was in the low 90s both times. St. Michael-Albertville, if we split the two days was about 94.5. Two teams lost with a 100 or more—–STMA and Maple Grove.

Best Dpp100: Hopkins with a 54.9 v Becker. Length and quickness make it hard to take the shots that you like.

Notice both the leaders are #1 Lake Conference teams, and #2 section 6AAAA teams.

Best floor%: Wayzata again v FF with a .582.

Best D Floor %: Wayzata, this time against Eastview with a .273.

31 CLUB

What is it? Points + D Stops + Distributiions. Think of it as a triple double.

There were 26 entries into this exclusive club in Week one. Six of them were up one leve to the 41 Club. One, Paige Meyer of Albany made the 51 Club, just missing out the 61 Club by one at 60.

Farmington had 3 join, the most of any team. Wayzata, Park Center, Rosemount, St. Michael-Albertville, and Stillwater had two apiece.

The 31 Club tilts heavy for AAAA players with 80% of the members residing there.
