MONDAY SECOND LOOK
Here is an examination of the pp100 window for AAAA Top ten teams. Their highest, lowest and anything in between (if I charted them more than once). I am not including teams I have only charted once. That leaves out Eastview, Prior Lake, Brainerd and Stillwater (from the last poll). The objective is to see how consistent these teams are in the pp100 category.
Rank, school | best pp100 | lowest pp100 |
#1 Eden Prairie | 115.3 | 104.8 |
#2 Hopkins | 123.0 | 60.6 |
#3 Maple Grove | 112.5 | 81.2 |
#6 Minnetonka | 90.4 | 75.9 |
#7 STMA | 101.3 | 77.9 |
#8 Wayzata | 97.0 | 79.7 |
The teams are heavy on the Lake Conference (schools currently members and future member Maple Grove). Hopkins has both the highest and lowest pp100 scores. The high came at home against AAA Two Rivers. The low came in their first game of the season against Lakeville North at the Breakdown Tip Off at Southwest Christian in Chaska. There have been three times I have charted the Royals this year. Maple Grove leads the above group with four chartings. Wayzata has three, the rest (so far) twice. EP is the only team with both chartings in the century category. Minnetonka and Wayzata have yet to crack triple digits.
Of the five times a team hit the century mark it came against either teams that are or have been in the top 10s in AAAA or AAA. EP is the only team to have hit 100+ against a current top 10 squad. That was DeLaSalle in the Breakdown Tip Off. Overall, the record for these six teams when charted is 12-4. The best losing mark of the six was with MG when they hit 91.5 in a loss to Providence at the Breakdown Tip Off.
